Research at The Campbell Family Institute for Breast Cancer Research
The research team led by Drs. Tak Mak and Pam Ohashi is focused on breast cancer, but their work also benefits other women’s cancers, as women with certain family histories are often at risk for breast and gynecological cancers. The team is made up of specialists from a wide variety of disciplines including immunology, drug discovery, genetic profiling, proteomics, cell signaling, and biobanking.
The team works closely with the physicians and clinical specialists who are treating patients. Together, they run clinical trials, test new drugs, expand the vital tumour banks that the researchers depend upon, and test new screening and monitoring techniques.
